Flyin' to the Hoop- Day Two Review

Willy Moore
Cincinnati got its first win in Dayton today with Aiken's great defensive performance: Pictures

Aiken 50 Vandalia Butler 36: Solid effort by Aiken in a game that they needed to win to restore their confidence. Aiken did a great job pressuring the ball and hounding Butler's guards all game long. The only way Butler was able to score was to get the ball into 6-9 junior center Taylor Decker who scored 12 points. Aiken also did a good job pushing the ball down court, leaving the slower Butler team in their dust, and passing to open teammates running the lanes. Willy Moore and Tyonte Robertson both had excellent passing games today for Aiken. Aiken was led by sophomore wing Austin Grimes who scored 12 points and grabbed 7 boards; Austin also had a nice dunk off of a pass from Tyonte Robertson. Keron Hicks, a senior wing that is a role player, hit two three point shots for Aiken and junior big man Floyd Lee played his best game of the season. Lee did a nice job guarding Decker and forcing him into contested post shots.
