Taft Senators- Division III State Champions in Ohio

State Champs
Taft 95 Cleveland Central Catholic 52: The Senators did not leave even the slightest doubt as to who Ohio's top D-III team is with a record breaking performance. Taft, who at one time led this game by 51 points, broke the record for most points in a quarter (30 points in the 2nd) and tied the record for largest margin of victory at 43. The Senators pressure was just way too much for CCC as Taft pulled out to a 30 point halftime lead and never looked back in this one. CCC committed 22 turnovers for the game, and other then Cleveland St signee Anton Grady who had 22 points and 14 boards, they didn't look like they belonged on the court with Taft. 11 of the 15 Taft players who played scored in this one (the Senators had 46 bench points) including three double figure performances as Adolphus Washington led the way with 18 (proving he deserved his Ohio POY award), Jalean Lowe scored 15, and Chris Lowe added 12. The Senators just torched the nets in this one by shooting over 55% from the field and from deep. Orlando Berry Jr, Dwayne Stanford, Malcolm Hicks, Jermaine Freeman, Marquez Johnson, and Kadeem Palmer all added at least 7 points for Taft. The Senators finish the season 26-1.  Celebration Photos

Cincy Prep Hoops Report would like to congratulate Taft on their championship season and for the way that they played all year; we also want to send our most sincere thanks to the entire program, particularly Coach Mitch and Coach Brad, for the access that they gave CPHR.
