State Championships Recap

Brandon Neel and Ryan Fleming were
spectacular in LaSalle's two wins in Columbus.
What a memorable weekend in Columbus with moments like:
  • Cincinnati teams going 4-0 in the Final Four.
  • Matt Woeste's game winning tip in the Semi-Final.
  • Taft getting out to a 30 point halftime lead in the Title game.
  • Brandon Neel putting on a show, including three big dunks against Northland.
These memories will stay with fan for years to come. CPHR is so proud to have two State Championship trophies down in our city for the next year. LaSalle overcame so much adversity this year, finally getting over the hump to make the Final Four, and then dealing with Coach Fleming's heart attack. The Lancers are truly an inspiration to all those who love competition, the toughness that they played with in the Northland game is what any coach would want their program to be based on. Taft has had to deal with a ton of hatred as their group of kids came together like family and proved that they are Ohio's top team.

Taft's Jalean Lowe really caught fire during the postseason.
Other great moments this season include:
  • Three great matchups between Princeton and Lakota East.
  • Middletown upsetting Moeller.
  • Winton Woods win in Dayton over Huber Heights Wayne.
  • The classic Taft vs Withrow games.
  • And many, many more incredible individual performances.........
CPHR is, starting tomorrow, shifting focus over to the AAU circuit where we will be covering all of the top teams and players in the city. Check back in the next couple days for a special announcement regarding AAU coverage on this site.
