Fairfield's Magical Run Ends in State Semis

Pickerington Central forward Jae'sean Tate
The Fairfield Indians came out of nowhere this season to reach the State Semifinals after winning the Division I Southwest Regional Championship. On Friday the Indians were eliminated in the semifinals by a very talented Pickerington Central team......

Pickerington Central 60 Fairfield 45: The Indians competed all game long with the tall and talented local team but a big third quarter run led by the powerful play of 6'5 sophomore forward Jae'sean Tate gave the Tigers a comfortable lead that they would hold on to for the remainder of the game. Tate would finish with 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead Pickerington Central, while senior guard (and Ohio University signee) Caris Levert scored 13 points. Versatile 6'5 sophomore Javon "JB" Bess added 10 key points for Pickerington Central, while senior guard Chad Nelson chipped in 9 points. Fairfield was led by the 11 points of senior Devon Barlow, the 10 points of senior center Brandon Murphy, and the 8 points of Jeff Woods in the loss.

CPHR would like to congratulate Fairfield, especially Coach Austing and their great senior class, in run to the Final Four! The Indians finish the season with bragging rights among Cincinnati D1 schools.

**Check back early tomorrow morning for a preview of the four State Championship games**
